Since I was a little girl I have gotten sick every fall and every spring like clockwork. As I have gotten older, my symptoms had gotten worse; to the point that I was constantly battling sinus infections and I felt miserable and congested most of the time. Thankfully, I was referred to Dr. Paul Lenkowski at Roanoke Valley ENT & Allergy. He and his staff are great! He was able to diagnosis my condition and developed a game plan to address it. He surgically repaired my sinuses and septum, identified my allergens, and put me on preventative treatment. I am so glad I went to Dr. Lenkowski! Now, I feel fantastic! I honestly did not realize how bad I felt much of the time until my condition was corrected. I highly recommend Dr. Lenkowski and his staff. They work hard to make sure you breathe better.

I’ve always had allergies ever since I was a little girl and was often sick year round as a result. My nose would constantly drip and under my eyes were often black due to allergies and being so congested. My dad suggested I see Dr. Lenkowski to address the severity of the allergies. Turns out there was a little more than allergies causing my sinus discomfort. Fast forward, I had sinus surgery to correct a deviated septum, nasal polyp removed, balloon sinuplasty, and the Clarifix procedure done. Having the sinus surgery has been the best decision I could have made for my overall health and wellbeing. I rarely have migraines, have been able to breathe through my nose which is something I’ve never been able to do, and my nose doesn’t constantly drip. My allergies are being addressed with immunotherapy. Everyone at the Roanoke Valley ENT and Allergy office has been so kind and caring. Dr. Lenkowski listens to my concerns, explains everything and makes sure that I feel comfortable. I am beyond satisfied.

In 2000 I became very ill. I went from specialist to specialist trying to get a diagnosis of what was happening to me. To make a miserable story shorter, my sinuses were so infected that the infection drained to my lungs and bronchi. I lost my sense of taste and smell, developed asymptomatic asthma, unending itching in my ears and on and on. Over the next five years I had 4 sinus surgeries. The surgeries removed bone and debris and I had nice black eyes and swelling after each. I still was unable to smell things like a spring rain on warm asphalt when the prednisone wore off.

Now enter Dr. Lenkowski who listened (and listened) and read my history. After addressing my illness, he offered me a new procedure, called Balloon Sinuplasty, which could be done in his office. I said something like “Can you do it today?” Well, we didn’t do it THAT day but shortly thereafter. IT WAS THE BEST DECISION I HAVE EVER MADE!!! I am very grateful to have had the procedure and my quality of life is much better thanks to it. Yours will be too!

I did not know what an ENT was. I wish my Doctor had sent me to you years ago. I feel so much better since my sinus procedure.

After my sinus procedure I have done really well.  I have never gone this long without a sinus infection.

I suffered from sinus infection and sinus migraines for decades and since the procedure I’ve had NONE!! I didn’t realize how poor my breath was before the procedure. I used to come home from work and collapse from working all day with a headache and now I can come home and play with my daughter all night.

Having this surgery has REALLY changed my life. I do not have to use a nasal solution after 60 years of using them daily. I finally can sleep all night after this surgery. I was always paranoid that I always had to have my nasal spray with me to breathe. This is the best surgery and I have had many surgeries in my life but by far this is the best and the easiest. I only had to stay home for a day. This has changed my life and to know I get to spend the rest of life, however long it is, being able to breathe and sleep.

I have had allergies all my life and struggled with sinus infections. In 2000 I had sinus surgery in the OR and the recovering was lengthy and didn’t help that much. From then on I still struggled with sinus infections, and prior to seeing Dr. Lenkowski I would have a sinus infection every 2-3 months. When I heard about the balloon procedure I asked my nurse friends and they all said hands down Dr. Lenkowski. I had the balloon procedure in the office and the recovery was easy and I have been infection free since. I highly recommend him and his staff.

That was the best thing you have ever done for me (balloon sinuplasty). It has been 8 years and I have had no sinus problems.

For year I have suffered from frequent sinus infections and chronic sinus headaches and severe congestion when I could lay down. After the Balloon Sinuplasty I can now breath, my headaches are gone and I am confident I will not have chronic sinus infections.

After two years of doctors visits with sinus infections, my family physician referred me to Dr. Lenkowski. After examining me and sending me for a cat scan, he thought I would benefit from sinus surgery. He explained it as an in-office procedure with little down time to recover. I am a teacher. Having the surgery on Friday and back to work on Monday sounded encouraging. Dr. Lenkowski explained it completely with detailed instructions and medications ahead of time.  The pain free procedure was performed on Friday afternoon. I was eating dinner and resting comfortably on Friday evening. As I recovered, I realized I could breathe easier and didn’t have the soreness around my eyes that sinus pressure brings. I have been free from sinus infections and headaches since then. Dr. Lenkowski and his staff are kind, caring, conscientious and professional. They are the best.

I am very pleased with the results of my out-patient sinus surgery performed at your ENT office in early April. You and your staff are very professional and  I felt very comfortable during the entire process before and after surgery.

Prior to my surgery, I was constantly dealing with clogged sinuses and drainage issues.  But now after surgery, I am amazed at the improvement in my ability to breathe through my nose  (as detailed in the before and after pictures that I saw, my sinus openings were full of polyps and lumps before surgery and after surgery show clear sinus airways and the polyps and lumps are gone).   To summarize, it feels like I am breathing through two large stove pipes now and it is especially noticeable at night when I am going to sleep.  With this said, I will definitely recommend the sinus surgery to all my friends and family if they are having sinus issues. Dr. Lenkowski believed me when no one else did. My sinuses very clogged following an incident I suffered when I was younger that prevented me from being able to breathe/taste and even smell at all. I had been to multiple doctors, including a doctor at UVA who basically told me there was nothing that could be done for me. Then I met Dr. Lenkowski in August. He quickly took me seriously and set forth action plans into getting me the help I needed. He is very knowledgeable about his field and always very kind and helpful in explaining all the details of your problems to you. He did my sinus surgery in October and now I can finally taste/breathe/ and smell like a normal person and I am immensely grateful for him and all that he and his team did to help me.
